On Friday afternoon, IPSS Medical Rescue, IPSS S&R, Kwadukuza Fire Department, SAPS and RTI responded to taxi accident on the N2 Northbound between Tongaat and Ballito.
A fully laden taxi had lost control, rolling and ejected several passengers, leaving 4 critically injured.
The critically injured patients, including a 3 year old toddler, were stabilised on scene by IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support Paramedics, before being transported to a suitable facility in Durban.
A further 10 passengers sustained injuries from minor to serious, and were treated by various services on scene before being transported to a nearby facility for further care.
Sadly, one occupant sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on scene.
