Man Fatally Struck Crossing Highway: Umhlanga – KZN

A pedestrian was killed in a collision on the M41 near the Umhlanga Rocks off-ramp in Umhlanga – KZN this morning (Monday).

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the scene at approximately 07:35 after reports of a serious vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.

It was established that a female was travelling to work with her young daughter when the accident occurred. The child was not injured.

According to information gathered at the scene, a man was allegedly attempting to flee across the highway when he was struck by the white Honda Elevate. Paramedics examined the pedestrian and declared him deceased on scene.

The vehicle involved sustained damage to the engine compartment and passenger side of the windscreen.
