Investigations launched into bus fires at the Buscor Bus Depot

Mpumalanga MECs for Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Mr. Jackie Macie and Public Works, Roads and Transport, Mr. Thulasizwe Thomo have today visited the Buscor Bus Depot following a fire incident in which ten (10) buses were burnt.

The visit forms part of the government’s immediate response to the incident and aims to assess the extent of the damage, engage with Buscor management, and receive a briefing on preliminary findings surrounding the cause of the fire.

The MECs and the media were briefed by the SAPS Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Dr Zeph Mkhwanazi on the investigation that is currently underway to determine the cause of the fire.
