An unidentified male was recovered along the coastline of Umhlanga Beach on Monday afternoon.
Metro Search and Rescue attended the scene and recovered the body. KZN VIP Emergency Medical Services conducted on scene medico legal procedures.
The deceased, believed to be a white male in his 50s to 60s, remains unidentified. Members of the public with missing persons matching this description in the North Coast areas, including Umhlanga, Ballito and Umdloti, are urged to contact SAPS Durban North or visit the nearest state mortuary for identification.
The body was removed from the scene and transported for further investigation. Circumstances remain under police investigation.
