As of 03/01/2025, the Tshwane Metro Police Department(TMPD) in partnership with Department of Roads and Transport, Community Safety, and Gauteng Provincial Government to ensure safety and compliance on Gauteng roads.

In particular, N1 South, one of the busiest roads entering the province, is experiencing high volumes of traffic and our teams are working tirelessly to ensure a safer journey back from holidays.

We are monitoring moving violations, ensuring compliance and safety for both motorists and passengers, and preventing illicit goods from entering our province.

**Motorists Advised:**

* Exercise patience and courtesy towards fellow drivers.

* Adhere to speed limits and rules of the road.

* Stay hydrated with enough water and take regular breaks to rest in the current heat.

* Avoid distractions while driving.
