The swift response by Richmond SAPS A-Shift members, after receiving information about a possible stolen vehicle abandoned on the N1 towards Three Sisters, led to the arrest of a suspect and the recovery of the stolen vehicle.

A 35-year-old man was arrested in Richmond on Monday, 16 February 2026, after he was linked to the theft of a vehicle from a car wash in Cape Town on Sunday, 15 February 2026. The suspect was traced to a mechanic’s workshop in Richmond.

He was charged with possession of a suspected stolen vehicle and is expected to appear in court in Richmond soon.
