On arrival at the scene, emergency crews found that a single vehicle had been involved in the accident, with 3 occupants sustaining critical injuries.
It is believed that the passengers had been travelling in the back of the bakkie when the vehicle was involved in the accident, resulting in them being ejected from the vehicle.
All 3 patients were assessed by paramedics and found to be in a critical condition, requiring urgent advanced life support treatment at the scene.
Due to the severity of their injuries, advanced life support interventions were carried out before the patients were transported to hospital for further medical care.
1 patient was placed on a manual ventilator and required assisted ventilation while being transported to hospital.
All 3 patients were treated extensively on scene before being transported to hospital under the care of emergency medical personnel.
