On 23 December 2025 at about 00:10, members from the Stock Theft Task Team deployed in Nqanqarhu and Ugie received information about the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition at the St Augustine administrative area, Nqanqarhu.

Upon their arrival at the identified place, they saw the suspect, and upon searching him, they found a revolver in his possession with two live rounds.

The 19-year-old suspect was arrested and will appear tomorrow at the Nqanqarhu Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 24 December 2025, on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The firearm will also be sent for ballistic testing….
