The Durban Metro Police Service, in collaboration with South African Police Service conducted a roadblock operation on Florida Road on the night of 03 April 2026, aimed at addressing driving under the influence of alcohol and enhancing road safety.
During the operation, a total of 17 motorists were arrested for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol (DWD). Of those arrested, 13 were males and 4 were females. The highest recorded alcohol reading was 2.08 mg/L, while the lowest was 0.29 mg/L.
This operation forms part of ongoing efforts to curb drunk driving and promote safer roads within the city. The Durban Metro Police Service urges all motorists to act responsibly and refrain from driving under the influence….
