The collision resulted in one crew member becoming entrapped inside the emergency vehicle, requiring specialised rescue equipment, including the Jaws of Life, to safely extricate them. The injured crew member sustained serious injuries and required immediate Advanced Life Support treatment at the scene before being stabilised for transport.
A second crew member sustained minor injuries during the incident and was also treated on scene.
Once both patients had been stabilised, they were transported to a Level 1 Trauma Hospital for further assessment and ongoing medical care.
