PARKTOWN – The vigilance of members of Johannesburg Public Order Policing led to the rescue of an alleged kidnapped victim and the arrest of two suspects with three firearms.
It is reported that, this morning, 30 December 2025, the members were monitoring funeral proceedings at Bekkersdal and during the convoy, a passenger from a Ford Figo drew the police attention, prompting them to stop the vehicle. The two suspects from the vehicle attempted to flee on foot but they were caught. The duo was found in possession of three unlicensed firearms of which one of had a filled off serial number. The victim in the vehicle indicated that he was kidnapped at Finsbuy in Mohlakeng where a kidnapping case has since been opened.
The duo is expected to appear before court soon on charges of kidnapping and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition….
