Late this afternoon IPSS Medical Rescue responded to reports of a pedestrian vehicle accident on the R102 near Shakashead.
On arrival a four year old boy was found to have sustained critical injuries after being struck by a light motor vehicle.
The boy was stabilised on scene by an IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support paramedic before being transported to an appropriate facility for further treatment.
The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
