A Taxi Driver arrested after drinking, alone, a bottle of Sminorf and exceeded the legal limit more than 10 times | Duma says RTI must have no mercy

#NenzaniLaEzweni: This morning, around 4 am, the MEC for Transport and Human Settlements Siboniso Duma gave a further mandate to the highly effective RTI team.

Hours after telling RTI to have no mercy against unruly motorists, he remarked:

“A taxi driver, who was carrying passengers, has just been intercepted along the dangerous zone N2 Umzinto River.”

“He was arrested by the RTI Park Rynie and prevented from killing passengers and other innocent road users.”

The taxi driver was under surveillance through the cutting-edge technology. He was observed swerving across lanes. He almost drove towards oncoming traffic. He was stopped, and the RTI team found a bottle of Sminorf inside the taxi. Upon testing, the alcohol concentration in his

blood was ten times over the legal limit.
