The suspect was stopped on Market Road by a DMPS Bike Unit member, with assistance from Van Patrol officers, and was escorted to the Alcohol Evidence Centre for a breathalyser test.
The driver recorded a breath alcohol reading of 0.98 mg/l and was subsequently arrested for driving a motor vehicle whilst under the influence of alcohol.
The suspect was detained at Durban Central SAPS, where further legal processes will follow.
