Arrest made as cocaine to the value of R3.6million is uncovered in a truck at George

Members of the Provincial Organised Crime Investigation Narcotics Unit, received information about a truck that is enroute from Johannesburg to George carrying drugs. The members stopped and searched the identified truck on the N12 in George and found a box containing cocaine with a total weight of six kilograms inside the cabin. The estimated value of the drugs is R3.6 million. The drugs are believed to be transported to a drug den, and forms part of the investigation of where it came from.

A 46-year-old male was arrested for dealing in cocaine and will appear in the George Magistrates’ court on Monday, 08 December 2025.

The Western Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General (Adv.) Thembisile Patekile applauded the members for playing their part in confiscating the drugs before it reached the streets of the province….
