Acting Gauteng Provincial Commissioner, Major General Fred Kekana, says SAPS has mobilised a multidisciplinary team to investigate the discovery of four women’s bodies in the Kempton Park area.

“#GBVF is a priority crime for the South African Police Service (SAPS) and it will not be left unattended.”

“At this stage, investigators are considering all possibilities. We are not limiting ourselves to one suspect or one theory.”

“We therefore urge members of the public and the media not to speculate or prematurely link these cases. Our duty is to establish the truth, and we will allow the evidence to guide us.”

Major General Kekana has also issued an urgent warning to members of the public following approximately 10 cases at Kempton Park Police Station involving people who met individuals online and were subsequently allegedly robbed and/or sexually assaulted.
