A woman escaped two (2) hijacking attempt at her residence in Canelands, KwaZulu-Natal today (Wednesday, 09/09/2026).
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received the call for assistance at approximately 17:30. On arrival it was established that the woman noticed the suspects approaching as she entered her driveway. The men attempted to overpower her and break the vehicle’s window.
The victim rammed the driveway gate and drove into the yard while repeatedly sounding the horn and screaming for assistance. Her family exited the residence and contacted the Operations Center for assistance.
The suspects were dressed in black clothing and wore black beanies. They fled on foot through dense vegetation near the premises. Reaction Officers searched the area extensively. The suspects were not located.
No injuries were reported….
