100 Rescue Call-Outs in 100 Days

Wilderness Search And Rescue (WSAR) marked its 100th incident for the year following the safe rescue of a 57-year-old hiker on Table Mountain on Monday morning.

The hiker had spent the night on the mountain after losing her way late on Sunday afternoon near the top of Corridor Ravine. She was located on Monday morning by members of Friends of Table Mountain, who immediately initiated the rescue response.

Working together with WSAR teams, the hiker was assisted from the mountain, transported to a safe access point, and handed over to a waiting ambulance crew for further medical assessment.

This milestone incident highlights what has been an exceptionally busy start to the year for WSAR teams.
