Inkosi Mhlabunzima Maphumulo House: We have mandated the Road Traffic Inspectorate to work with the Durban Metro Police and South Africa Police Service to locate the truck driver and the owner of the truck that plunged into 7 houses and a shack in Prince Mcwayizeni Road in Umlazi.
The two must be held accountable for the rampaging truck. Importantly, it is alleged that the truck driver, a foreign national, was visiting another foreign nation at the nearby salon.
The truck rolled down the road, without the driver behind the steering wheel, leaving behind a trail of destruction.
We salute the quick-thinking and brave bystanders who saved the injured residents. Three victims who were run over by the truck were taken to Prince Mshiyeni Hospital.
