This afternoon, an elderly couple in their vehicle collided with a young man and his vehicle right at the Engen petrol station opposite Drakenstein Mall lustigan pad Paarl.
2 DFW emergency first aid and fire responder teams arrived within 8 minutes, secured the scene and took care of the patients. Despite the impact, clearly visible on both vehicles, the patients only were bandaged for minor injuries and the Ambulance was cancelled.
Police and towing services arrived later and the vehicles were towed.
The importance of the DFW as a Non Profit and Public Benefit Organisation becomes more and more clear.
These accident responses are done by DFW volunteers, on a Pro Bono bases as long as budget allows.
