Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to Valley View Drive after receiving reports of an assault. On arrival, Reaction Officers interviewed the injured victim.
The man alleged that he had been consuming alcohol in Phoenix, KZN before returning to Redcliffe. He stopped at a local tuck shop where he regularly purchases items and was seated outside consuming a beer when he was approached by four (4) individuals. Following a verbal altercation, the group allegedly assaulted him.
According to the victim, after he fell to the ground, two (2) of the suspects allegedly stabbed him multiple times. During the attack, his cellular phone fell from his pocket and was allegedly stolen by one (1) of the assailants before the group fled the scene.
The victim sustained four (4) stab wounds to his back and left hand.
