High wind speeds (>70 km/h) are currently being experienced on Van Reenen Pass between KwaZulu-Natal and the Free State. These conditions may disrupt traffic flow and could result in hazardous driving conditions, damage to property, or fallen debris along the route.

Thania Dhoogra, chief operating officer of N3TC, requests road users to take precautionary measures to protect their safety. “Please heed all warnings, and approach high-lying areas with caution,” says Ms Dhoogra.

Vehicles towing trailers or caravans, as well as trucks with high sides, or carrying light loads-, are advised to exercise extra caution, particularly when travelling between Ladysmith and Harrismith.
