Earlier this evening, at approximately 19:00, the KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service was dispatched to a high-priority scene on the R617 at Landies Hill in the Howick area following reports of a serious motor vehicle collision.
?Upon arrival, first responders were met with a chaotic scene as a fully laden minibus taxi had veered off the roadway, lost control, and overturned. The vehicle came to rest precariously, highlighting the extreme complexity of rural road emergencies.
Paramedics immediately initiated a triage process to manage the high volume of commuters involved in the crash.
?A total of 14 patients were identified and assessed by medical teams. Fortunately, despite the violent nature of the rollover, all 14 individuals were found to have sustained minor injuries. Each patient was stabilized on-site before being transported to various medical facilities for further evaluation and definitive care.
