Neighbour saves child from a burning house in Vredenburg

This morning West Coast Medical Rescue responded to reports of a house fire in Vredenburg.

En route Saldanha Bay Fire Services were activated. Upon arrival it was established the house was fully engulfed in flames. One child was found lying on the driveway with obvious smoke inhalation and was in a serious condition.

West Coast Medical Rescue paramedics assessed and treated the child on scene before transporting the child to a nearby hospital for urgent care.

We would like to applaud the neighbor who did not think twice to enter the burning house to save the child who was still in the house.

The fire was brought under control quickly by Saldanha Bay Fire Services.

The cause of the fire remains unclear.
